Ray Greek, MD
President and Co-founder
Dr Greek is board certified in anesthesiology (1990) and was sub-specialty certified in Pain Management in 1993. In addition to his private practice, Dr Greek taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. During the course of his medical career, he performed experiments on animals and conducted clinical research.
In addition to being published in peer-reviewed scientific literature, Dr Ray Greek is the author, along with his wife, Dr Jean Swingle Greek of three popular science books on the topic of attempting to extrapolate the results of animal experiments to humans. Sacred Cows & Golden Geese (Continuum 2000) was the first. With a foreword written by the preeminent primatologist Jane Goodall, the book addresses the issue for the lay audience. Specious Science (Continuum 2002) addresses the issue in more scientific depth. What Will We Do If We Don't Experiment On Animals? (Trafford 2004) examines the research modalities available without using animals. Dr Greek has also published articles in the popular science journals.
Niall Shanks, PhD

Dr Niall Shanks is the Curtis D. Gridley Distinguished Professor of History and Philosophy of Science at Wichita State University in Kansas. Dr. Shanks received his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Alberta. His areas of specialization include Philosophy of Science (especially Biology), Bioethics, and History of Science and Technology. He is the author of God, the Devil and Darwin (Oxford University Press, 2003), Animals and Science: A Guide to the Debates (ABC-CLIO 2002), and, with Hugh H. LaFollette, Brute Science: The Dilemmas of Animal Experimentation (Routledge 1996). He has also published widely in peer-reviewed scientific literature, as well as popular journals. He is president (2008-09) of the Southwestern and Rocky Mountain regional division of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Mark Rice, MD

Dr Mark Rice is on staff at the University of Florida in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr Rice has performed research on animals and with humans and has been involved with research on both academic and private levels. His clinical and research interests include liver transplantation and noninvasive blood analysis. He is the founder of a national pharmaceutical distributor and has seven US patents.
Lawrence Hansen, MD
Dr Lawrence Hansen is Professor of Pathology and Neurosciences at the University of California San Diego. He has authored over a hundred papers. His research interests include dementia.
